A Good Laugh

Do you have those certain pictures that every time you look at them you can't help but laugh hysterically?? Well, for me, this is one of those pictures! This is my niece Courtney and she loves, loves, loves this mustache. She loves it so much that she even keeps it in the freezer! Her facial expressions absolutely kill me; too funny!

A few observances for November 12th, 2010:
  1. We have little pedal tractors in the store for Christmas. I learned today that no matter how bad I want to, I will never be able to reach the pedals and race through our showroom. BUT--I can use my feet instead and their should be pedal races for big kids!! Like me!
  2. Rainy days, like we're having today, make me want to curl up on my couch with a good book and hot tea.
  3. White trucks and mud don't mix.
  4. Christmas is only 43 days away!

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! If you're headed out for opening morning of deer season tomorrow, please be safe, and wear your orange!!

Father Daughter

I love, love, love pictures! Dad and I took this picture at our family reunion back in September. He's a pretty neat guy--even if he does refuse to change my oil in my car or fix my tire.
This fall is starting to finally wind down. There are just a few guys left in the field and I'm loving it! Last year at this time we were about 50% done...working on the combines when it's cold and snowy is ZERO fun!
Thanksgiving is in 22 days, which is just amazing to me! And before we know it, Christmas will be here too. This time of year I am thankful to have an amazing that family that cares about each other so much. There's a lot of little things we take for granted every day and it's important to remember them---on good days and bad days.
Here's wishing you an amazing "early" holiday season!!!

Sea Urchins

These are my two most favorite girls in the whole wide world!!! Channing is 8 and Courtney is 12. Therefore, I was like 8 when Courtney was born, right? Ya, that math works out.
Ha! I wish! I was 15 when Courtney was born and man was that a fun day! There's something about your sister having a baby that makes life very surreal. I had babysat a lot in my teen years and loved little kids, but when Courtney was born it was totally different. She was a part of me, she was family...and it was awesome! Court is in 6th grade now and so incredibly smart! She cracks me up all the time and has a great sense of humor. She loves, loves shoes!! She may never wear any of them, but man does she love them!
Channing is my buddy and has been since she was about 3. She was adopted at 3 and I have no recollection of her before that. Ha ha! Just kidding! She despised females when she was really little and absolutley LOVED my dad (her grandpa) . Sometimes she would warm up to me and in would walk dad and out of my arms she would go! She still loves her grandpa, but Aunt Nick is pretty cool too! Channing is in 3rd grade and has the reasoning of a 35 year old. She cracks me up with anything that comes out of her mouth! She also just shot her first deer recently while hunting with her dad!
I love both of them so very much and feel so lucky to have them in my life!

Mi Familia

We recently had our annual Family Reunion over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Man is it fun!! We've been getting together for the last 7 years and it sure is great to see everyone. Here is one of our family pictures we snapped before dinner.

Family is such a fragile thing. A lot of you know that our Aunt Lori has been in the hospital for almost 2 months now; she is doing so much better, but does have a long road to recovery. It's amazing to see her progress from day to day and to look back to where we were to where we are now. Never take for granted the special people in your life; you truly never know when your world can change.

Harvest is in full swing in northwest Missouri!! Combines started rolling yesterday and despite the small amount of rain we had yesterday and today, they are still going strong today. Let's hope this harvest doesn't drag on like last years did!! It's a wonderful site to see the pretty red machines rolling through the field!

The weather has been cool here, which is a great change. I even wore a jacket this morning while I was working outside! Bring on the bonfires, football and fall festivals!

Here's to wishing you and yours a happy fall!

Why I Love Summer...

Summer is, by far, my favorite time of year. Sunshine, playing outside, big bodies of water, waterslides, the lake....I could go on and on.

This summer my nieces came to stay with me for a whole weekend. Talk about exciting! They had been to Oceans of Fun a couple days prior with their summer-league ball team, so when I informed them that we were going to the water park in St. Joe for a WHOLE afternoon, they were not exactly impressed. We floated in the lazy river and went down waterslides all afternoon. I thought we did a good job keeping sunscreen on--but as you can see in the picture, we didn't do as well as we should have.

Summer is winding down and what a great one it has been. It's been unseasonably chilly (low 80's) the last 2 days here in Savannah, but looks like the heat will pick up right where it left off. It's days like today that make me want to get out the hoodies and look for a bonfire. The shop at work is full of combines and soon they will be rolling in the fields---and what a great sight that is!

I hope these last few weeks of summer are great for you and your family!!

This Guy....

This guy is our Dad. His name is Cliff. He's coined phrases such as, "Come go with me", and "Nutritious and Delicious". We love him a lot. :-)

Things I Love

I love these two houligans. Love, Love, Love. The hottie in the middle is my big sister, she's amazing. She has two little girls that bring love to my heart in so many ways. Her husband (my brother-in-law) is a really cool guy too. She's the organized, very level headed, fun, sweet, always up for a good time sister. She went to Mizzou, but we don't hold that against her...not too often anyway.

The stone cold fox on the far right is my baby sister. She's a Bearcat; just like me! She's the lighthearted, always sees the good in situations, infectious laugh, random, hilarious sister. She was in Decatur, Illinois for this whole summer interning with ADM (Archer Daniels Midland). She just got back to Missouri this past Friday; we sure are glad to have her back.

The thing about these sisters is that we are all each others best friend. There are very few days the 3 of us go without talking to each other. We're the kind of sisters that can stay up till all hours of the night and never ever run out of stuff to talk about. They are incredible!

Family is truly a blessing, and I'm a very very lucky girl. :-)

Happy Monday!
